Val Vaughn

Radio has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I remember listening to Wolfman Jack when he blazed through the ether from Mexico to Southern California where I grew up. He was sooo rude (and I loved it!).When I announced to my dad that I was going into radio upon high school graduation, he said “no you’re not!” So, I got married instead. (How’d that work for you Val?). I got into radio where I’ve been yaking it up since.

I love to talk, walk, hike, ride, swim, write poetry, crack jokes, play some piano, and talk (did I mention talk?). I love living by water and being surrounded by conifers and the richness of Washington. I love horses and saddles that make my butt feel good. I love clouds. I love tearing up the terf at a dirty dusty rodeo. And for a Southern California gal who grew up in the sun, I love the rain! It’s funny when I think about it now but when my dad (my biggest fan) would ask me when I was returning to California, I always said “not today dad - it’s raining.”
