POLICE REPORT: WOMAN SET UP FLOORING, DESK, COMPUTER, PRINTER, AND KEURIG IN ROOFTOP FAMILY FARE SIGN

MIDLAND, Mich. — A woman was discovered living inside the rooftop sign of a Family Fare grocery store in Michigan, where she had resided for about a year, according to Midland police.

The unusual living arrangement came to light on April 23 after roof contractors stumbled upon the woman in the confined space that houses the store’s sign. Police said the space, measuring 10 to 15 feet in length, 5 feet in width, and up to 8 feet in height, was outfitted with flooring, a desk, a computer, a printer, a Keurig, and a pantry stocked with food.

Brennon Warren, a spokesperson for the Midland Police Department, stated, “We made contact with her and advised that she could not live there." Following the encounter, the woman was formally trespassed from the property and informed about local services, though she declined assistance.

Authorities confirmed that the woman, whose identity has not been released, vacated the premises without any issues. Despite the duration of her stay, she faced no formal charges. It remains unclear how she accessed the rooftop area.
