THERE’S NOW A PHONE FOR YOUR DOG

LAS VEGAS - At the CES a startup is marketing what it calls a “phone for pets,” a collar-mounted device that can be trained to call its owner.

The $90 gadget attaches to a dog’s or cat’s collar and includes GPS tracking, a speaker to play music or sounds, and a microphone that allows two-way communication. Owners can call the device and talk to their pet in real time.

An upgraded version adds a camera and motion-based triggers, allowing the device to automatically place a call when a dog performs certain actions, such as jumping three times.
