WASHINGTON — In an unusual reminder, the White House Correspondents Association leadership has issued a notice to journalists and politicians, cautioning them against taking mementos from Air Force One. An ingrained habit among some, the act of removing items like engraved whiskey tumblers, wine glasses, and gold-rimmed plates from the presidential aircraft has been subtly acknowledged as a rite of passage. "Everyone does it," claimed one reporter, who preferred to remain anonymous, highlighting a culture of souvenir-taking among those with access to the plane.
