ONLINE SHOPPING STRESSES US OUT MORE THAN DOOMSCROLLING

Scientists in Finland say there’s one thing many people do on their phones that can be even more stressful than doomscrolling the news: online shopping.

Researchers found that the hunt for the “perfect fit” — whether it’s clothes, shoes, or the exact item you convince yourself you need — can trigger a noticeable spike in stress, turning so-called “retail therapy” into something closer to retail anxiety.

In other words: that endless cycle of compare, click, second-guess, and “wait… what size am I again?” might be setting off your internal stress-o-meter more than the headlines.
