OFFICERS FREE YOUNG ELK CAUGHT IN TREE SWING

TACOMA, Wash. — Police officers in Tacoma recently came to the aid of a young bull elk entangled in a tree swing by its antlers. Body cam footage from the scene showed one officer getting knocked down before managing to cut the elk free.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Office praised its officers for "stepping up to the challenge" to rescue the distressed animal. However, they noted that, regrettably, many such wildlife entanglements frequently result in the animal being euthanized.
