‘MARGARITAVILLE’ SINGER JIMMY BUFFETT DIES AT 76.

    Matt Case - Sept. 2nd

Jimmy Buffett, the iconic singer-songwriter known for the Caribbean-inspired hit “Margaritaville” and who expanded his brand into a billion-dollar business of restaurants and resorts, has died at 76.

A statement released late Friday on Buffett’s official platforms read, “Jimmy passed away peacefully on the night of September 1st, surrounded by his loved ones, music, and dogs. He embodied his life like the lyrics of his songs until the very end and will be deeply missed by many.”

The announcement did not specify the location or cause of his death. Earlier this year, health issues led him to postpone concerts in May. Buffett had mentioned a hospitalization on his social media but didn't elaborate.
