PORTAGE, IN—In what local authorities are calling a miraculous turn of events, a man who had been trapped in his pickup truck for several days was rescued thanks to the alertness of two fishermen in northwest Indiana. Mario Garcia and Nivardo Delatorre made the life-saving discovery while scouting for fishing spots along Salt Creek, near the I-94 bridge in Portage, Indiana.

According to Garcia and Delatorre, they were drawn to a seemingly inconspicuous site beneath the bridge yesterday, where they stumbled upon the wrecked truck, almost completely hidden from view. Upon closer inspection, they were shocked to find a driver trapped inside, his plight unnoticed by passersby for days.

The rescued driver, hailing from the South Bend area, recounted a harrowing tale of survival. He had been pinned to his seat since last Wednesday, following a crash that left him with life-threatening injuries. Local police, astounded by the man's endurance, lauded his extraordinary will to survive under such dire circumstances.

The extraction of the man from the mangled vehicle was a painstaking process, taking several hours to complete. This incident has highlighted the incredible resilience of the human spirit and the vital role that chance encounters can play in saving lives.
