MAN BREAKS WORLD RECORD SINGING 42-HOURS OF NONSTOP CHRISTMAS SONGS

An English man has proven that holiday spirit — and vocal cords — can apparently last forever.

Dave Purchase spent 42 straight hours singing Christmas songs without stopping or sleeping, earning a new Guinness World Record and a story his vocal cords will be telling for years.

Purchase said the marathon performance wasn’t all mistletoe and merry vibes. By hour 32, he admitted he was hallucinating and seriously considered calling it quits. But he powered through, one carol at a time, refusing to let exhaustion steal his silent night.

When it was finally over, the payoff was sweet: a Guinness World Record and the unlikely discovery that his voice survived the ordeal. Aside from losing the ability to hit very high or very low notes, Purchase said he didn’t lose his voice at all — a Christmas miracle, depending on who you ask.

No word yet on whether he ever wants to hear another Christmas song again.
