CUSTOMERS GET FREE GROCERIES AFTER COMPUTER GLITCH

    Matt Case - December 23rd, 2025

A routine grocery run turned into an early Christmas miracle for shoppers at a Texas grocery store after a computer glitch shut down every register in the building just days before the holiday.

Customers waited patiently in long lines for hours as the system remained offline, unsure whether they’d leave with groceries—or empty carts. Then came the surprise.

The store manager stepped forward and delivered the kind of announcement shoppers rarely hear: everything in their carts was free.

Phones came out. Jaws dropped. And for at least one customer, the moment brought tears.

“It was overwhelming,” she said, describing the unexpected generosity at a time when holiday budgets are stretched thin.

The glitch was temporary. The goodwill won’t be forgotten anytime soon.
