Nationwide to Drop Coverage for 100,000 Pets Amid Rising Costs

Nationwide Insurance, the largest pet insurer in the United States, is set to discontinue coverage for approximately 100,000 pets. The company attributes this decision to inflation and escalating veterinary care costs.

Affected policyholders will receive notification letters, with the process continuing through the summer of 2025. This move comes from the same Nationwide that provides car and homeowner insurance.

Pet owners not yet contacted should remain vigilant, as the wave of notifications will extend into next year.
