Costco's New Food Court Favorite Sparks Envy Among U.S. Shoppers

TORONTO — Costco has introduced a new food court sensation in Canada, igniting envy among U.S. shoppers. The new offering, chicken strips and fries, has quickly become a rival to the iconic $1.50 hot dog and soda combo, a staple at Costco since the early 1980s.

Last week, Costco’s new Chief Financial Officer, Gary Millerchip, reassured customers that the beloved hot dog combo price remains unchanged.

However, U.S. shoppers are feeling left out as the chicken strips and fries combo, priced at CAD 6.99 (approximately USD 5), is currently available only in Canadian locations.

After a Reddit user shared an updated Canadian food court menu, the post was flooded with comments from disappointed U.S. customers. “Chicken and fries would be such a hit in the states,” one user remarked. American Costco-goers pointed out that fries are not available at U.S. food courts, intensifying their longing for the new menu item.

For now, U.S. customers will have to settle for their hot dog and soda, while Canadian Costco fans enjoy their exclusive new treat.
