An ancient civilization recently uncovered deep in the Amazon rainforest is being compared to 'El Dorado'. The discoverer, who first noticed it nearly 30 years ago, has shared this view.

Recent archaeological findings, published last week, reveal a 2,500-year-old lost civilization of farmers in the Amazon. This site, the largest and oldest pre-Hispanic urban network found in the Amazon, even included beer jugs.

Spanning over 385 square miles, this extensive area was concealed for ages by the jungle in Ecuador's eastern Andes foothills, specifically in the Upano valley.
