CUPERTINO, Calif.  — The long-anticipated iOS 18 was officially announced last night by Apple, featuring a suite of significant updates that are set to redefine the iPhone experience.

In a major update to its flagship mobile operating system, Apple introduced new customization options, satellite-based messaging, and the innovative Apple Intelligence.

“We are thrilled to introduce iOS 18,” said Craig Federighi, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Software Engineering. “This release is monumental, packed with incredible features including advanced customization, a revamped Photos app, and enhanced connectivity through Messages.”

Scheduled for release this autumn, iOS 18 will not be available for all iPhone models. The update is selective, leaving users eager to know if their device is compatible.
