    NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Country music star Luke Combs is at the forefront of the 2024 Academy of Country Music Awards nominations, securing a leading eight nods. Combs is in the running for male artist of the year and entertainer of the year, categories he has been nominated for consecutively over the past five years.

    Among his notable nominations is his rendition of "Fast Car," contending for song of the year. This particular nomination brings Tracy Chapman, the original artist of the song, into the spotlight for her first ACM award recognition.

    Close behind Combs in the nomination tally are Morgan Wallen and Megan Moroney, each with six nominations. Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton, and Lainey Wilson are not far behind, with each artist vying for five awards.
