Steven Sater and Jessie Nelson’s Alice By Heart is a beautiful and heart wrenching tale of two young adults who escape the horrors of war by retreating into a fantastical world. The show is coming to the North Thurston High School theatre.

This Broadway production won awards for costume design, choreography and leading actor for a musical. Alice by Heart is a gruesome and gloomy story that guides the audience through the trials and tribulations of a young girl named Alice, and her dear friend Alfred. This tragic tale takes place in the deep and dark London Tube, as Alice transports Alfred into the wonderfully bright world of wonderland. The contrast between the dreary subways and the vibrancy of wonderland makes Alice by Heart truly a sight to behold. Sets combined with the somber, yet uplifting music played by our school’s music programs, and created by the Tony and Grammy award-winning creators of Spring Awakening Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik (and co-written by Jessie Nelson) makes this an experience like no other.
