Join Drew Crooks as he discusses the momentous Medicine Creek Council which resulted in the Medicine Creek Treaty of 1854.

In this presentation historian Drew Crooks will look at the famous Nisqually leader Chief Leschi and Isaac Stevens, Governor of Washington Territory. He will also discuss the momentous Medicine Creek Council of 1854 that brought the two men together. The resulting Medicine Creek Treaty had important consequences in the 19th century and continues to impact our region and its Native and non-Native inhabitants to the present day.
