Country star Tracy Lawrence held his 13th Annual Mission:Possible Turkey Fry here in Nashville last week. He and his crew of loyal volunteers, ranging from his own staff members to fellow country singers, got up early and took to the task of deep frying at least 500 turkeys to help feed 5,000 Nashville Rescue Mission clients and guests. I shared my interview with Tracy on the KAYO Facebook page and I'm looking forward to interviewing him again soon about his syndicated show Honky Tonkin' with Tracy Lawrence that airs on the station Sunday mornings from 6-9 a.m. Here are a few photographs from the turkey fry which is held in the parking lot of our local mission.
The Christmas season begins in Music City when the tree at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum gets lighted. Deck the Halls, an annual event at the famous institution, was held on Friday with special musical guest Cassadee Pope adding shine to the tree and singing her songs for guests. The official Christmas tree for Nashville will be lighted on November 30. And the Grand Marshall for our annual Christmas parade is Kid Rock this year. I'll share these stories in an upcoming Katy's Notes from Nashville.
